How to date as a single parent
Don¡¯t put your relationship away because of giving all your time to raise your children. If you want to meet a new partner, take your time to prepare and ask a girl you like on a date.
Don¡¯t feel guilty of leaving your kid at home. You can ask your neighbours or parents to take over for a bit. You deserve some time on your own with some other adult. Don¡¯t seek only for people with other children, just mention you have one (or more) and that you¡¯re very happy about it. Don¡¯t make your partner suspect you¡¯re looking for housekeeper for yourself.
You can let your children know you¡¯re going on a date with someone special. This let them get used to the idea as early as possible to avoid later confusions. Let them know it¡¯s a good thing. Introduce the new person to your children gradually if you feel that your relationship is becoming more serious.
Try to make sure you¡¯re not spending a night in bed with that person when your children are around. Don¡¯t try to show too much of affection near your children so they don¡¯t feel jealous. Don¡¯t kiss your partner or talk only to her/him. Let your children know you are keeping an eye on them too so they will not feel pushed away.
