How to convince your landlord to accept pets.
More and more people resign from keeping animals at home. One of the reasons can be busy lifestyle, lots of travelling, or an allergy to fur. What happens if you do want to have a dog or a cat, have enough budgets, time and motivation but you are renting a flat and your landlord established a rule of having no pets around when you were moving in.
This might be a hard task but let¡¯s see what your landlord is like. If you¡¯re planning to buy a puppy you can invite your landlord to have a chat about it. As the landlords usually forbid keeping pets because of damages they can make you can offer another deposit for any damages caused by your little friend. Second thing, you need to reassure the owner that your pet is not going to be loud, running wildly around or barking all day getting on neighbour¡¯s nerves. Try to describe what kind of pet it is. If it¡¯s a dog, tell him more about it¡¯s kind and breed, tell him it¡¯s not going to be an aggressive type of a pet. Tell him where are you going to walk him out.
Ask him if you can have a trial.
Another way is try to beg a bit. You can let your landlord know how much do you love this place but you can¡¯t live without a dog, you¡¯re a bit lonely during the days and if a dog cannot be here you might have to move out. You might be seeking a reason for an outdoor activity. If he clearly states that in this situation you can move out, the chances to get a dog pass is almost impossible.
If nothing helps, you can always say you want to get a dog and train him for a disabled person in your family and give him away when he is ready.
