How to choose an engagement ring?
Congratulations! You've found the girl of your dreams, and you are going to pop the question...But where do you begin? How do you choose the right engagement ring? How much should you spend? These questions can cause a lot of stress. So here are a few tips to help you out.
Don’t risk it! Engagement rings are very important to girls. It’s better to get it right!! If you are both open about the engagement, then take her to some jewelry shops and just browse the engagement ring section. Tell her to feel free to try a few on, and see which ones she really likes. If you feel uncomfortable or want the ring to be more of a surprise, then you can have a close friend of hers go with her just for fun. Alternatively, take her to some ‘big brand’ shops like Gucci, Cartier to see what type of dress rings she likes. At least you can browse a Vogue magazine and point out a few images and ask for her opinion.Pay attention to the jewelry she has already. Try to gather what metals and styles she likes and the ones she does not (well, many girls are very specific).
DO NOT buy a ring with out knowing what she thinks of it.
Have her shop online and send you a wish list of items she would like to have, this will help you get a clear idea of what type of cut for a diamond she prefers. If your potential fiance has a close sister or friend, take the sister/friend along for advice.
