How to ask your friend on a date?

 

If you’re shy, grab your telephone. If things start going unwell, you can excuse yourself from the conversation very easily.

Be sure to let him/her know who you are when you call. This saves both of you from the questions "who?"

Try not to blurt out your proposal. Ease into it. Start a conversation. If you start having second thoughts, you can always call back later

Don’t be afraid, make it easy on yourself. A movie is better than lunch or dinner. It doesn't require much conversation, and you don't end up staring at each other.

Pick a movie that's been recently released. Ask if she's seen it. If she/he has, you've opened the door to talking about films. If she/he hasn't, ask her/him if she'd like to.

If she says no, be direct : "Is that a bad time or are you just not interested?" Her answer could surprise you, and you're leaving it up to her to decide how to handle it. If she's really your friend, she won't be angry with you.
